What You Aren’t Supposed to Know – LDF Response Analysis

Here for Hereford have undertaken a full analysis of the written responses submitted during the Sept-Nov 2011 consultation, on the future plans for Herefordshire. Herefordshire Council advised the group that all the written responses have been published on the council website, after having been redacted to remove personal information. The results below are an analysis of all these written submissions, which include responses from Councillors, parish councils, the general public and petitions. There is no weighting to any response with every response being treated as a single response. To be consistent with Herefordshire Council practise and previous analysis, each petition submitted during the consultation period has been treated as a single response. These percentage calculations are based on all responses.

Here for Hereford hope that their analysis of the Council’s consultation will help inform decisions on developing the future plans for the County. On Tuesday 29th May the overview and scrutiny committee of Herefordshire Council were scheduled to review the LDF process and hear the results of the autumn consultation. This review had been requested by members of the public over 18months ago after the 2010 consultation. Councillors and the public have been concerned that the plans and processes in developing the future plans for Herefordshire have been flawed. The review would have helped the Council and its officers avoid the cost of any further expensive consultations being undertaken by learning the outcome of previous consultations and to propose ways of developing sound plans for the County. Sadly, the Council have now cancelled this important review, without any explanation, just 1 week before it was due to take place.
